I spent too damned much time recovering the ancient archives of this site (all the way back to Entry #0, 12/1/99) yesterday and today (not ready for public consumption yet, sorry - but soonish).
What important lessons did I discover while I was gaily skipping down the paths of memory, you ask?
I used to write a LOT more entries, like 3 or 4 a day, but a lot of them were a link and one or two sentences of snark. Is it better now?
I've had a lot of different jobs in these years, five or six - in just under eight years. My wife and I bought a house. I became a dad twice over, meaning my computer room has moved three times, being ousted from rooms in favor of children. Two cats have become former cats and a new one has entered the fray. I link to a lot of people who I don't speak with anymore and to a lot who am unfathomably close to know. At least three long-lost friends have discovered me here and said hello at length, and a few others have hit-and-run.
But nah, no lessons learned.
Obviously.
I DID notice, though, that I used to put links up to my own songs a lot, and I haven't done that in a long while, so here's my home solo version of one I sang with the band last month: It's called False Spring.

Dig it, dude. Sounds kinda Rolling Stones-esque. Something I'd actually choose to listen to, seriously.
Oh, and whatever it is you're doing with your blog, it's good. So keep doing it.
