Old as the trees. Old as the dirt.

I've been thinking about how age is inexorably creeping up on me. I'm trying not obsess about it, as other members of family have and do, but as I move slower and find my innate physical abilities - such as they ever were - gradually absenting themselves, it does pop into my head from time to time.

This
Salon article gave me pause, though. One inspirational passage:

"But resisting old age makes you old. It makes your losses serious. When you accept those losses, on the other hand, they become comic. You defeat old age by making friends with it. By letting it win. And you might as well, because it's going to anyway."
