Of late, I've been feeling marginalized - pigeonholed by someone who is peripherally in my life (if at all). It's a feeling I'm all-too-familiar with, having someone who doesn't really know you assume that they do based on your ethnicity, appearance or interests (or anything), like "You're chubby and Jewish? Then you must be really funny!"
I don't think anybody likes the feeling, yet we all invariably do it (judge the book by the cover, as it were).
Including me. So maybe the unhappiness I'm feeling is really (or should be) directed at myself, huh?
