Denver Post.com - What is a liberal?

The dictionary defines liberalism as "a political philosophy advocating personal freedom for the individual, democratic forms of government, gradual reform in political and social institutions." That doesn't sound too life-threatening.

My coworker Bob pointed this article out to me.

Of late I've been thinking about Bush I's accusation that Michael Dukakis was a 'card-carrying' member of the ACLU.

That's not a bad thing. Neither is being a liberal.
