I guess you can count me in on this. The 2000 Election
Nelson Ramos, a 42-year-old bricklayer, wishes he did not have to work in the bitter cold. He wishes the Cubs would play championship baseball. And he wishes a Democrat would win the White House.
"But you don't always get what you want in life," he said. "So you accept reality and move on."
I believe that it's important to get an accurate vote, but I also accept that getting one in this era of highly charged partisanship will probably be impossible. I suspect that Gore & the Dems and Dubya and the GOP could probably engage in a heated debate about whether 2+2=4 at this point.
And where does that get all of us, the non-elected class?
