Calexico are some of the guys (Two? Three? Sorry I can't remember) from my much-beloved Giant Sand and they make a very pretty noise themselves - arid, I'd say, like the desert they hail from, but tuneful. The record I'm listening to (The Black Light) feels like an all-star gathering addressing some long-forgotten genre (like Los Super Seven or The Minus Five, say).
In short, It rocks.
