It's been movie weekend:

It's been movie weekend: Magnolia, Ghost Dog and The Filth And The Fury.

Magnolia was fine, but loooong - and I didn't end up as in love with it as others have been. Ghost Dog was also better than average, but it didn't hit me as hard as Jim Jarmusch's best wor (Dead Man, Stranger Than Paradise) has.

Ah, but The Filth And The Fury...what a phenomenal film! I don't know that I'd like it as much if I wasn't already inordinately fond of the Sex Pistols, but I think I'll be buying a copy of the film in the near future. Best point: the oft-commented upon Johnny Rotten remark, "I could take on all of England, but I couldn't stop one junkie." Most chilling: Sid, on the nod in interviews and then saying ruefully that he wasn't having fun and that he'd rather be under the dirt. Really, a stunning documentary.
