I Am Old (Hear Me Roar!)

| Comments (2)

(post title copped from Dan in the former Czech Republic - thanks, man)

Some of you know that I'm planning on turning 40 a little later this month. With that in mind, I put together a little list:

Things I Probably Won’t Ever Get To Do (Or Do Again)
Bang my head in the front of the stage to the earsplitting and mindbending sounds of the Mighty Mofos
‘dance like a motherfucker’ (to quote my friend Rob Byrne)
Appear in full drag on the cover of my college (or any) paper
Pitch for a major (or minor) league team
Record anything that’s released for sale to the general public
Buy a vintage Fender amplifier

Things I Probably Shouldn’t Do or Do Again (But Might Anyway)
Get a tattoo
Dye or bleach my hair
Drink and laugh until dawn with my pals
Play live in a rock combo
Run for public office
Appear in full drag
Listen to music based on noise and jungle rhythms with lyrics that are just screamed mush

Things I Will Do
Make music
Complete more writings
Continue to be the best family man I can be

This is, of course, subject to futher review and revision, but - let's be honest - follow-through isn't really one of my strengths.

Totally get the tattoo, at least.

Mofo's are everywhere!

Do it!
