I didn't really believe that the tenor of a city could change based on relatively simple, mundane events until I lived in DC during the '92 election and watched in amazement as the buttoned-down city, true to the myths that suggested it took on the persona of whomever was in the oval office, became palpably more smiley and friendly.

So too, it will be at work and in the stores, bars and restaurants here tomorrow - for there IS joy in Mudville!
