I really think that we Americans are faced with a choice between two shallow stereotypes next month - the dolt and the wonk. Neither of them are really worthy of my vote - it's doubtless I'll end up voting against somebody, rather than for anybody. Sigh. Oh, well, I've lived through some 20 years of tyrannical Republican rule thus far in my life (I exclude Ford here - he wasn't around long enough to be tyrannical) and a little less of lacksadaisical Democratic rule, I guess I can live through some more of either.
