Hawks and Hornets by William Raspberry
Hawks and Hornets by William Raspberry, containing the particularly disturbing viewpoint that toppling the regime in Iraq will somehow lead to a smurfy existence where terrorists will be only a bad dream.

A letter to America by Margaret Atwood
A letter to America by Margaret Atwood
The British used to have a myth about King Arthur. He wasn’t dead, but sleeping in a cave, it was said; in the country’s hour of greatest peril, he would return. You, too, have great spirits of the past you may call upon: men and women of courage, of conscience, of prescience. Summon them now, to stand with you, to inspire you, to defend the best in you. You need them.

I’m not against the war as much as I am against our government lying to us about it
Saul Landau: Technological Massacre
A kind of long and meandering article/essay which I nonetheless found extremely resonant.
Look, I’m not ‘ignorant’ as a recent letter to the editor suggested (of anti-war protesters). I’m not even all that deadset against the war – Saddam Hussein is a tyrant, doubtless.
However, does anyone remember that freeing the oppressed Iraqis was only one of the reasons our ‘president’ led us into this war? Wasn’t there something about nuclear, biological and chemical weapons? And some sort of proof that Hussein was tied to Al Qaeda?
Let’s make this clear: I’m not against the war as much as I am against our government lying to us about it? What else are they lying to us about, do you suppose?
I know that whatever I write here is largely like a fart in a stiff wind. There are likely only two of you reading this, but still…

Oh, sure, I know why website comes up for some of these…I just can’t imagine what kind of person goes searching for photos of evil men with breasts – and what they expect to find.
